What is the origin of Showorks' products?
Who is Showorks?
Showorks is an Australian business wholly owned and operated by Australians.
What does Showorks do?
Showorks is the leading developer and supplier of customised mystery jackpot products incorporating stunning 2D/3D animations, graphics, sound effects, signage and related products. We offer the complete solution for mystery jackpot systems.
Why should we use Showorks’ graphics and other products?
We believe our high quality products are superior to others on the market. There may be more economical alternatives but the old adage applies - you get what you pay for! Our strategy to offer complementary jackpot products also enhances venue choice and places more control in the hands of our customers.
What other benefits does Showorks offer?
We offer more choices, options and flexibility. Our graphics can be tailored to suit your venue’s requirements and we are happy to consider requests for specific content. We help our customers maintain more control of their gaming products and the way they are presented.
Can Showorks help customise our mystery jackpot systems?
Yes. We can help you custom-design the whole system by using our graphics packages in conjunction with a variety of jackpot systems and a range of signage options, including overhead jackpot signs, generic machine top-boxes, bank-end displays and remote monitors.
Are Showorks' graphics compatible with all systems?
Our graphics are compatible with jackpot systems that support standard movie file formats such as MPEG-2 or AVI, including systems supplied by Gaming Support, maxgaming, PALtronics Australasia and Progressive Gaming International (formerly Mikohn).
Can we choose the themes for our jackpot systems?
Yes. One significant benefit of our products is that you get to choose the theme irrespective of what machine brands and games are connected to the system.
How many mystery jackpot themes does Showorks offer?
We already have sixteen (16) themes in our library and we are committed to adding many more to our suite of mystery jackpot animations.
What’s included in Showorks' graphics packages?
Our graphics packages include a variety of animated attract scenes, win celebration sequences, jackpot ranges, special messages and other branding options with sound effects.
Can we add our logo and other messages?
Yes. A unique feature of our products is that we offer to brand the production to your venue by adding logos and other specific jackpot-related messages.
Can we include advertising of our restaurant and promotions?
This depends on the local regulatory requirements. Currently, in N.S.W. there is no prohibition on using the sign for advertising purposes as long as the overhead sign remains predominantly a jackpot display device. The advertising material must not interfere with the primary purpose of the sign, which is to display jackpot information to the player.
What happens if we want to change the jackpot dollar ranges?
If you choose to show the ranges of jackpot values in the graphics production and you subsequently want to change them, we will need to re-work and re-render the movies, which can take some time and incurs a small administration fee.
What happens if we want to change the jackpot percentages?
If the jackpot percentages are not advertised in the movies and you change them. There is no need to alter the productions in any way.
How do we know that Showorks’ theme names are OK to use?
All of our theme names are owned by Showorks Australia. They are protected as registered trademarks or they are in the process of being registered.
Can we use another jackpot name instead of Showorks’ theme name?
Yes. We are quite happy to assist venues in that way and many have taken up that option, which is all part of our unique service offerings. The only recommended precaution is to ensure that the name chosen does not or is not likely to infringe a registered trademark.
What sound options are available from Showorks?
Sound effects and voice-overs are included in our attract, play and win celebration sequences. We produce our own sound files to suit all of our themes. Typical attract sound effects are included in our sample files on this website.
Is sound necessary?
We believe it is for the win celebration sequences. There are varying opinions about its necessity for high frequency jackpots and during attract sequences. In one sense, sound can help get the attention of players. On the other hand, patrons may be irritated by constant sound. We usually set the attract sound to occur once every 15-20 minutes but we can vary timing to suit each venue's requirements.
For how long does the attract sequence run?
The length of the jackpot attract animation is variable. We believe it is sufficient for a production movie to run for 4-5 minutes before it restarts.
For how long must jackpot meters be displayed?
The rules may vary from one jurisdiction to another. In N.S.W., the general requirement is that they must be displayed for most of the time. We can customise this to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Many venues feel that it is essential that jackpot meters always be on display. Our usual practice is to ensure that at least one jackpot meter is always displayed.
Can we specify the appearance of the jackpot meters?
This depends on the jackpot system used by the venue. Showorks can certainly customise the borders, appearance and size of jackpot meters. However, in some cases, we are limited to the functionality of the particular third-party graphics drivers.
Why should we switch to Plasma or LCD displays for our jackpot systems?
One good reason is price. Graphics drivers and Plasma/LCD displays are much more economical than LED displays. In addition, they offer a larger display area, greater capacity for varied visual content, more colours and better screen resolution than traditional LED displays. It is our belief that the quality of graphical content and the quality of resolution are most important aspects of a jackpot system.
What is your response to claims that the jackpot values are more important than other graphics?
We agree that display of jackpot values is very important. That is why we endeavour to make them very prominent. However, our belief is that some operators ignore the fact that attraction to gaming products also lies in the graphical content rather than just the prizes. Gaming patrons look for a sense of association and relationship with game themes and the way they are presented. If the value of prizes were the only thing of importance to gaming patrons, we would have a very boring range of game offerings, machines and signage. Presentation and appearance are important factors that make gaming products unique and attractive to players.
Can we have different win celebration sequences for various jackpots?
Showorks can supply any number of win celebration movies provided the jackpot system is capable of running separate movie files for each separate jackpot level win.
Can the signage artwork match the graphic animation?
Yes. We supply matching artwork as part of our signage products.
Does installation of Showorks’ graphics require government approval?
Not in N.S.W. This may vary from one jurisdiction to another.
Can Showorks custom-develop a theme that is not already in Showorks' library?
Yes, we can. Development time and costs, however, are very much dependent on the length, detail and suitability of the production to the gaming industry. If you require more information, just ask and we'll be happy to discuss your ideas and needs with you.
What is the origin of Showorks' products?
From concept to completion, our products are 100% home-grown Australian products.
